Template competition

Published on Sunday, 13 November 2005
I've submitted my first design to the Mambo 4.5.3 Template Competition. It is the "Freedom" template, being fully XHTML and CSS compliant. The reason I've done this is due to missing the earlier design competition for Mambo before the Foundation fired the previous core team. As it stands, the Freedom template includes accessibility considerations at less than 2K of actual templating code.
I also plan to do some variants on this design as well as finishing off my second submission by tomorrow (14th Nov 05). The reason Absalom Media can develop designs to layouts so quickly is the use of rapid CSS prototyping, cutting the development time down and reducing layercake issues with layout and copy.
